Before returning to work as an occupational therapist, a Registration Application Form accompanied with applicable fees and documentation must be submitted to the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia. Please read and follow the Registration Application Form Guide.
Once your application form has been reviewed and processed, and you have met all registration requirements, you will be granted a new certificate of registration. You will receive a registration card, a wall certificate and any other information that is pertinent.
Re-registering after a leave of absence from the profession
Applicants who have not worked for a number of years and do not meet the currency requirement (current practice hours - 1200 in a five year period), will be required to complete a Re-entry Program.
Applicants who previously held a certificate with the College but surrendered for a period of time, will need to re-apply for a certificate of registration. To do this, complete the Registration Application Form and meet all requirements at the time of application. Generally, this involves completing the form, paying the reinstatement application fee, registration fee, submitting a copy of your professional liability insurance certificate, proof that you paid your NSSOT fees and an updated Curriculum Vitae.
